The Press Section mechanically squeezes water from the wet web coming from Wire Section High dryness afterthe press is require to reduce steam consumption. Removal of water in Dryer Section through evaporation is 7-10 times costlier than Press Section.

Press has two major objectives 1.To remove water from the web, 2.To consolidate the web, to bring fiber in to close contact for bonding.
